Getting Care or Prescription Drugs During a Disaster

If the Governor of Florida, the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, or the President of the United States declares a state of disaster or emergency in your geographic area, you are still entitled to care from PHC Florida.

During a disaster, we will allow you to get care from out-of-network providers.   If you see an out-of-network provider and he or she bills you for care you get during a disaster, please send us the bill so that we can pay it.  You should not pay the bill.  If you pay for medical services from out-of-network providers, please send us the receipt so that we can pay you back.

If you cannot use a network pharmacy during a disaster, you can fill your prescription drugs at an out-of-network pharmacy.  If you must use an out-of-network pharmacy, you might have to pay the full cost of your prescription at the time you fill it. You can ask us to reimburse you for our share of the cost.

If you have questions about getting health care or prescription drugs during a disaster, please contact Member Services.
