Provider and Pharmacy Networks
PHP (HMO SNP) makes getting health care and filling prescription drugs easy. The plan’s provider network includes leading HIV primary care doctors, specialists, and hospitals in Los Angeles County.
All of PHP’s primary care providers are HIV specialists. They provide routine health care and manage the disease. Members don’t need a referral to infectious disease specialists for HIV management. This is an important feature of an HIV special needs plan. Most regular Medicare Advantage plans require members to choose a generalist primary care provider and be referred to an infectious disease specialist for HIV care.
The plan’s specialists are chosen for their familiarity and compassion in treating HIV patients and they are affiliated with some of Los Angeles County’s leading hospitals.
You can review the plan’s provider network two ways:
- Search online using our Network Provider/Facility/Pharmacy Search application
- Download the Los Angeles County Provider and Part B Pharmacy Directory (last updated October 01, 2024)
Because PHP is an HMO, members must generally get medical care from network providers for the care to be covered by the plan.
Filling a prescription is easy. PHP has contracted with the big pharmacy chains like CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens, as well as smaller chains like AHF Pharmacy. It has also contracted with numerous independent pharmacies throughout Los Angeles County. If you happen to need to fill a prescription when you’re outside of Los Angeles County, you can go to any contracted chain pharmacy. (By clicking on the link above, you will be taken to the AHF Pharmacy website. AHF Pharmacy is operated by the parent company of PHP, AIDS Healthcare Foundation.)
You can review the plan’s pharmacy network two ways:

- Download the Los Angeles County Part D Pharmacy Directory (last updated October 01, 2024)
Members must generally get prescriptions filled at network pharmacies for the drugs to be covered by the plan.
